The Hoedown Band

The Hoedown Band plays a range of classic country rock, country and new country songs. We can perform either a concert full of great up-beat songs, all singalong favourites or a WILD WEST Party which adds called dances to the mix - a combination of simple line and american barn (bush) dances guaranteed to get everyone involved even if you have never done this kind of dancing before!

The song set covers classic songs like Jambalaya (Hank Williams) and Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash), through the country rock of bands like the Eagles to new country from the Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood and many more. We specialise in up-beat country music that appeals to a wider audience, with many singalong favourites in our set list.

Our singer Dawn also has a repertoire of line and barn dances which are ideal for audiences who've never had the opportunity to take part in this highly enjoyable form of social dance. Dawn's bubbly personality and her technique of demonstrating the dances from the dance floor means that everyone wants to get involved in the fun. We can supply a four piece band including a female vocalist / caller, guitarist / vocalist, bass guitar and drums. Additional musicians are available at an extra cost (please enquire).

The band is fully self-contained, by this we mean that we provide all the equipment that we need to perform. All you need to provide is a space for us to play and at least two safe 13 amp power sockets. The band is also fully insured and the equipment has regular PAT safety checks.

We can customise the format and duration of the performance to suit your event but we tend to be asked for two 45 to 75 minute sets. We mix and match the concert material with the hoedown and line dancing to give a balanced programme of entertainment for you and your guests. We can also play appropriate recorded music through the PA system during any breaks either from our library of country tracks or from an iPOD supplied by you.

A safe performance area measuring at least 5 metres wide x 3 metres deep with access to at least one a standard 10A power socket. If outdoors then the stage should be covered in case of inclement weather.

TRIBUTE to Country Music - a show is jam packed with some of the greatest hits from country - including old favourites like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton to more recent artists such as Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and Alan Jackson. A unique combination of rockin' classics and modern country style music to get your feet tappin', your heart thumpin' and everyone singin' along.

The band is made up of professional musicians with a long history of making sure that the audience has a darn good time... and is left wanting more!
