The Regent String Quartet is a group of four highly skilled musicians based in Melbourne, Australia. The group comprises the standard classical string quartet combination of strings: two violins, viola and cello. Regent SQ has over ten years experience of ensemble playing and has played in most of Melbourne’s finest venues.
The live sound of strings cannot be underestimated – we hope we can make your function that extra bit special.

In a typical wedding ceremony, the quartet is available to play for:
> Pre-service music (Beautiful background music 15 minutes prior to the bridal entry time while guests are arriving)
> Processional (Bridal entry)
> Signing of the register (music is played during the signing of the register and accompanying photos)
> Recessional (Bride and Groom exit)
> Post-ceremony music
We are also regularly booked to play at corporate events and a wide range of private functions including cocktail parties, business dinners, book launches, conventions, trade shows, exhibitions, engagement parties, anniversaries and Christmas parties.
These are the categories of entertainment or other services offered by Regent String Quartet.
We require approximately 3.0 metres by 2.0 metres (9’10” by 6’7″) of space to play. We arrange the four chairs provided in a semi circle. Adequate shade and/or cover is required to protect our valuable instruments against any moisture or direct sunlight. We are unable to play even in light drizzle or direct sunlight, due to the effect on the instruments. Your venue management will usually be able to provide market umbrellas or other suitable cover. Level ground, adequate lighting and four chairs without arm rests are also necessary.
The Regent String Quartet play all the standard string quartet repertoire – plus more! We have a huge range of music: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Pop, Rock, Commercial, Jazz, Nostalgia as well as Movie and TV themed music.
